Millennium Girls Golf Opens the Season with a Strong Showing at Legends at Arrowhead
The Millennium High School Girls Golf Team officially kicked off the 2026 season with their season opener against Mountain Ridge High School at The Legends at Arrowhead Golf Course, and what an opening day it was!
With temperatures soaring to approximately 115 degrees, the girls faced one of the toughest challenges of the day before even hitting their first tee shot. The extreme Arizona heat tested their endurance, focus, and ability to stay mentally strong throughout the round.
Adding to the challenge was the course itself. The Legends at Arrowhead presented a new level of difficulty for many of our players, with challenging holes, demanding shots, and windy conditions that made club selection and course management especially important. The girls had to battle not only the heat and the course, but also the wind that picked up throughout the round.
Despite the difficult conditions, the Millennium Tigers showed tremendous determination. They stayed focused, supported one another, and continued fighting through every hole. This first match was a great opportunity to learn, adjust, and gain valuable experience as we begin the 2026 season.

A huge congratulations goes to Senior Isabella Lopez, who came out of the gate strong and finished 1st Overall!
Isabella battled through the heat, wind, and challenging course conditions to post the top individual score of the match. Her performance set the tone for the season and demonstrated the hard work and dedication she has put into her game.
We also want to give a special shoutout to Freshman Teria Williams, who competed in her first-ever high school golf match! Welcome to the Millennium Girls Golf family, Teria! We are excited to watch you grow and see what this season brings.
⛳ A Season of Growth Begins
A season opener is about more than just the scorecard. It is about getting comfortable competing as a team, learning how to handle adversity, and discovering what we can improve on moving forward.
The girls showed grit, resilience, and plenty of fight at Legends at Arrowhead. There is still a long season ahead, and we are excited to see this team continue to grow, compete, and represent Millennium High School with pride.
