Prescott Invitational: Memories, Laughter & A Round We’ll Never Forget
If you ask the Millennium Girls Golf Team what their favorite event of the season is, the answer is easy: the Prescott Invitational! 💜🏌️♀️
Every year, this tournament gives our girls the opportunity to get away from the Valley heat, enjoy the beautiful Prescott weather, meet new players, and—most importantly—make memories together.
Day 1: Scrambles, New Friends & Lots of Fun
The Prescott Invitational kicked off with the always-popular Day 1 Scramble, giving players from different schools the chance to team up, meet new golfers, and enjoy a little friendly competition.
Our Millennium seniors showed up and showed out! Each of our seniors led their respective teams to great rounds while making new friendships and memories along the way.
There is something special about watching these girls step outside their normal team circles, play alongside new people, laugh together, and simply enjoy the game.
After four years of high school golf, these are the moments that matter.
Prescott isn't just about the golf, it’s about the memories.
Day 2: Championship Golf... Until the Storm
Day 2 brought a completely different atmosphere.
With a 7:30 a.m. shotgun start, every team headed out ready to compete. And Millennium was ready.
Our girls were playing some of their best golf of the season. Hole by hole, the team was putting themselves in an incredible position.
Junior Aubrey was having an absolutely phenomenal round, sitting at an incredible 4-under par with just four holes remaining.
Freshman Teria was also having a fantastic day, playing around even par for most of her round and showing just how much she has grown this season.
And it wasn't just Aubrey and Teria, all of our Millennium girls were putting together amazing rounds.
Then came the storm.
Weather moved into the area, and tournament officials were forced to call the competition before the players could finish.
At the time the tournament was called, Millennium was tied for 1st place with defending champions Chaparral High School.
And just like that, we were left wondering:
What if?
Would Millennium have pulled out the win? Would Aubrey have finished her incredible round at 4-under—or even better? How would the final holes have changed the leaderboard?
Unfortunately, we'll never know.
A Heartbreaking Ending for Our Seniors
The cancellation was especially difficult for our seniors.
This was their final Prescott Invitational, and after finishing 2nd place in this tournament two years in a row, going out on top would have been the perfect ending.
To have the opportunity to win, and then have the tournament taken away by Mother Nature, is heartbreaking.
We truly hope the event can be rescheduled so these girls can finish what they started. They earned that opportunity.
But even without a final score, there is something we know for certain:
These girls made memories that will last a lifetime.
Four years of traveling to Prescott. Four years of laughter. Four years of friendships. Four years of golf, competition, crazy weather, long days, and unforgettable moments.
For our seniors, this tournament will always be more than a golf tournament.
It will be the place where they made some of their favorite high school golf memories.
And that's what the Prescott Invitational is all about.
💜 Until Next Time, Prescott...
Whether we get the chance to finish this tournament or not, we couldn't be prouder of our Millennium girls.
They competed. They laughed. They made friends. They supported each other. And they created another chapter in the story of Millennium Girls Golf.
A huge thank-you to everyone who makes the Prescott Invitational such a special event year after year. We are grateful for the invitation and the opportunity to compete alongside so many talented programs. Thank you to the Corona del Sol Aztecs for hosting this wonderful event.
And to our seniors:
Thank you for four incredible years of memories. Prescott will always be one of them. 💜🏌️♀️
Now... let's hope Mother Nature gives us a chance to finish what we started! ⛳🌩️
Go Tigers! 🐯💜
